Good and Lovely Home
Not one of the traditional pieces in Lovely’s Good And Lovely collection, this painting from the Westies collection sneaks in by name only, thanks to its Good & Lovely brand color palette. The sleeping white pups, Lovely’s own pets which adorn a great number of her paintings, repose among the same whites, pinks, and blacks that were used to create other Good And Lovely creations, from Jackie Kennedy, to Marilyn Monroe, to the American Flag. “Painting from life,” this scene played out as Lovely unpacked from a trip, her dogs’ secure and contented body language exuding the sense of being “glad to be home.”
