Nantucket Basket Parade
Created in paint marker as a study for a larger painting, this parade is heavily related to paired studies such as Nantucket Flower Parade where you’ll recognize the same figures against a different background. Still featuring the same Tiffany’s and Mackenzie Childs “knickknacks,” in the artist’s self-described “parade of things, the background draws from the uniquely identifying color of the pants known as “Nantucket Reds.” Any summer in New England, you’ll find the heart of it dotted, colored, and clothed with the dominating hue in Lovely’s Basket Parade.
